Permaculture, gardening and sustainability education for all ages

Cloudy Forest Farm is situated in the beautiful Dandenong Ranges outside Melbourne and offers:

  • Permaculture design and chicken keeping consults

  • Permaculture, gardening and sustainability workshops

  • Environment and Sustainability education sessions for schools

  • Seasonal eggs and chickens and fertile hatching eggs

A Permaculture Approach

Cloudy Forest Farm is an optimistic tiny business, focussing on teaching the skills needed to grow local food and respect and care for the environment. The Permaculture ethics of Earth Care, People Care and Fair Share underpin all our activities, onsite and in the community.

Providing farm fresh eggs to the local community

Farm fresh eggs sold locally from happy hens. Where possible our hens are heritage breed hens, hatched right here on our farm. If you’d like to know where our eggs are available, please use the contact page.

Seasonally, chicks, hens and fertile eggs for hatching are also available. Please enquire via the Contacts tab.

School Sustainability and Environmental Education Incursions

I can provide school visits for students from kindergarten age up to year 10. With many years experience in environmental education, a current Working with Children Check and a Cert III in Education Support I would love to provide your school with curriculum linked education sessions. See the School Visits page for details and booking.

Permaculture services offered locally

Locally, I offer discounted Permaculture services.

I offer a chicken keeping one-on-one consult and a Permaculture walk and talk to help home owners envisage their productive and wildlife friendly garden, using tried and true Permaculture design tools. Check out the Permaculture Services tab for details.

Permaculture, gardening and sustainability workshops.

My goal is to help members of the local community build the skills and understanding necessary for a healthy, sustainable future. I love to teach and have several science, gardening and teaching qualifications. Check out the Events page for upcoming Permaculture, gardening and sustainability workshops. Workshops are held in the community and at the property.

Meet Amy

A Hills local and mother of 5, I am also a committed environmentalist. I have built my knowledge of ecology and environment over many years, adding Permaculture and gardening knowledge in more recent years.

At the heart of all that I do is our beautiful Dandenong Ranges property. It brings together my enthusiasm for small farming, Permaculture, local food and environmental education and nature connection for all ages. This focus also provides a natural, healthy and nurturing environment for my family.

While I am working towards the property being an incredible example of abundance and sustainability, it is totally a work in progress! There is no perfection here! The aim is to be always working towards environmental sustainability, and that’s a beautiful thing.
